Katie Gauthier is a widely respected instructor and choreographer. She currently lives in Ottawa, where she teaches recreational, competitive, and professional dance programs full-time, in styles ranging from contemporary to hip hop.

Originally from Beresford, New Brunswick, Katie trained at Danse Acadie until the age of 18, competing and performing in local shows and competitions. In 2007, Katie auditioned for Culture Shock Canada, a non-profit organization offering youth outreach dance programs in select cities around the world. She now plays 3 roles in the Culture Shock organization: Co-Artistic Director for Future Shock Ottawa (the youth troupe counterpart to Culture Shock), Youth Outreach Director, where she coordinates free dance programs for youth-at-risk in the Ottawa area, and a featured dancer in Culture Shock’s professional dance crew.

Katie has also had the opportunity to perform both locally and internationally, at the East Coast Dance Concert in Washington, DC, (2009, 2011, 2013), World of Dance in Toronto (2011), and the Culture Shock International Showcase in San Diego, CA (2012), and Oakland, CA (2014). She also had the opportunity to perform while studying in Paris in 2009-2010, as a principal dancer in Sciences Po’s musical theatre production, “Diva sur Divan”. There, she performed several pieces in jazz, character, contemporary, and modern styles. Katie's style of teaching combines technique, high energy, and a passion for music and movement. She hopes to continue performing and teaching as long as possible.
